Aprons: The Uniform of World Changers!

Brandi over at Mountain Mornings is having a giveaway.  You know my weakness for books, and this one is a great one!

The Apron Book:  Making, Wearing, And Sharing a Bit of Cloth and Comfort By  EllyneAnne Geisel

Now I’m supposed to post a picture of me wearing one.  Hmm.  As often as I do wear one, no one is taking my picture very often!  Well, here’s a shot of me washing carrots this morning taken by my seven year old:

So glamorous, huh?

There are many things I like about aprons.  Tie one on and you feel immediately inspired!  Makes it much easier to get your day started.  It is also a symbol of humility and being willing to serve.  I don’t know about you, but I can use all the help I can get in those areas!  And admittedly, I like anything that is feminine and contrary to our androgynous, feminized culture.  I like looking like a woman, and there’s not much more womanly than an apron!  Also, anything that cuts down on my laundry is GREAT!

So head on over to Brandi’s and enter yourself.  Hurry, you’ve only got until this evening!

  1. Thank you for the “heads up” – it’s very generous of you to SHARE the opportunity! I just got my apron/contest post up too.

  2. You look VERY pretty in your apron! My husband got me one for my birthday once from Starbucks at my request.. like the green ones they wear (I always liked those for some reason). I’m ashamed to say I hardly ever put it on. I think I too often forget I have it, or any of my other aprons- and by the time I remember, dinner’s almost finished! 🙂 I’ll have to remember to wear it more often. I agree with you about your thoughts on ‘being a lady’ in a world where the ugly feminism movement has definitely taken its toll. I hope you win the contest!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for the comment on my blog! GREAT to hear from you! :)And you are right, my family IS wonderful! Coie and Ryann are two of the sweetest girls I know. I miss them terribly and sometimes wish we lived closer. And Jen is my very best friend. Whenever we’re together we end up laughing like hyenas and making some of the funnest (and funniEST) memories going on double dates with our husbands and such. Does your family still go to the same church? I thought you lived in a different state?

    God Bless!

    Jessica

  3. PS.. I meant to say, Jen is my very best friend ASIDE from my dear husband. 😉

  4. Great post, Kim! I LOVE the title! Wish I had thought of it…:0)

Thank you for entering! I’ve got you down for 5 entries…Good luck!

    Have a blessed evening!
    Brandi
